The Ministry of energy and coal industry has set a goal to decrease the dependence on the anthracite coal, supplied from the ATO zone, by 30% per year.
“In 3 years we have to be completely independent of this coal”, the minister Igor Nasalik said.
According to him, on March 1, 2017 the second block of the Zmievskaya TPP will switch to the gas-grade coal, in three more months – the 5th block of the plant.
This will help decrease anthracite coal purchases by 1.5-2 million tons per year. (Ukrainian metal)
