In November Novgorod Iron and Steel Works, a part of the Russian Copper Company, produced 6 thousand tons of copper cathodes, which was the best result since the company was put into operation in 2003.
In December the output is expected to increase to 6.2 thousand tons.
At first the capacity of the works was 40 thousand tons of copper cathodes per year. In 2005 after an overhaul it was capable of producing 50 thousand tons. In 2007 after another reconstruction its output increased to 70 thousand tons of copper cathodes per year. (Ukrainian metal)
