Turkey is interested in privatizing Ukrainian mines and is prepared to invest into coal industry development.
“We had an interesting meeting with our Turkish partners. They can help us financially to revive the industry. They also plan to take an active part in our mine privatization”, said the energy and coal industry minister Igor Nasalik.
According to him, apart from the mines to be privatized, there is also a group of mines that the ministry plans to make profitable in 6-12 months. 5 state mines will be closed down.
The budget money for the closing down of mines will not be spent on helping other mines, as has been done in previous years.
In January-February state mines yielded 1.04 thousand tons of coal, or 15.9% of the total volume. (Ukrainian metal)
