Zaporozhkoks has started supplying coke gas to Zaporizhstal.
According to the company statement, investments in the project totaled 75 million UAH.
“The usage of the coke gas will allow to decrease natural gas consumption, by substituting it with a much cheaper fuel – blast-furnace coke mix. Thus the works will be saving some 30 million cubic meters of natural gas per year”, said the company press-service.
In its turn the excess blast-furnace gas from Zaporizhstal will be supplied to Zaporozhkoks. The company has already updated its equipment to use blast-furnace coke for the production of electric and heating energy. (Ukrainian metal)
