The industrial policy and entrepreneurship commission of the Verkhovnaya Rada has supported the decree on the metal scrap export duty increase.
The duty will be increased from 10 euro to 35 euro per ton for 3 years.
“This duty will help restore Ukrainian industry”, believes Victor Galasyuk, a people’s deputy and one of the authors of the decree.
Scrap procurement in Ukraine has fallen by some 40%, and the scrap deficiency is felt stronger. The increase of the duty can stabilize deliveries of scrap to Ukrainian works and minimize the volumes of uncontrolled exports. (Ukrainian metal)
