The Ministry of economical development and trade will be giving ferrous scrap export quotas.

“The day wasn’t named, nor the export volumes”, said Interpipe sales and logistics director Evgeny Gorodetsky.

In 2015 the ministry gave quotas for the export of 500 thousand tons of scrap.

Despite the end of winter, situation with scrap procurement hasn’t improved.

“As of March 14, there were only 80 thousand tons of scrap procured. We can say that at the end of the month there would be 160-190 thousand tons, on the February level”, he added.

According to him, metal makers still suffer from scrap shortage. Even though major buyers increase prices, most of the procurers want to export. (Ukrainian metal)
