The only producer of primary aluminum in Ukraine – Zaporozhye Aluminum Works – plans to start producing aluminum wire rod and silicon at the expense of selling unused assets.
In 2012-2015 Rusal (Russia) was steadily destroying ZALK.
“They put out of operation, disassembled and cheaply sold most of the machinery as well as took away the unique deposits – the Glukhovsky quartzite quarry”, said the company director Dmitry Lobikov.
Now the works plans to start producing aluminum wire rod and silicon by selling unnecessary assets. (Ukrainian Metal)
