The European Commission has decreased an antidumping duty on Ukrainian steel ropes made by Stalkanat-Silur from 51.8% to 10.5%.

According to the company CEO Sergey Lavrinenko, this will most likely not let the company greatly increase output, as entering the EU market will not be easy.

“But this means we have to update our machinery. In late 2015 we ordered new equipment worth 16.5 million UAH. In February we will conclude more contracts worth 50 million UAH”, he said.

51.8% duty was implemented in 1999. Since then it has been extended every 5 years. (Ukrainian metal)
