Metallurgprom believes ferrous metals export duty on the level of 50 euro per ton will bring 45 million euro (or over 1 billion UAH) to the state budget.

According to the company president Alexander Kalenkov, the decree being prepared by the Ministry of economic development and trade presupposes the temporary increase of the export duty.

“We don’t know for sure how long this duty will stay, but for three years at least”, he said.

“There is a scrap shortage on the market, but the country continues to export. Scrap stocks are decreasing”, added Derzhzovnishinform metal markets analysis department expert Vadim Odarenko. (Ukrainian metal)
