Non-reimbursement of VAT to exporters serves as an indirect exports tax in Ukraine.
“Our country has no exports taxes, but this non-return of VAT imposes a 20% duty on Ukrainian manufacturers”, said Ukrstalkonstruktsiya CEO Vladimir Nosov.
According to him, VAT reimbursement would be more advantageous than the creation of an export-credit agency or export-supporting site, with which the Ministry for economic development and trade is toying now. Neither Ministry of finances, nor the State Fiscal Service tries to deal with this problem.
“We need to move to the higher level. This is a strange situation, when the state speaks of supporting exporters, but in fact harms manufacturers”, said he. (Ukrainian metal)
