In October Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after Dzerzhinsky started a unique overhaul – that of sintering machine #12, that was put into operation in 1963.
“The machine has been stopped for 45 days. None of our specialists remembers when we had such repairs”, said the sintering shop #2 director Yevgeny Parfenov.
The repairs will see a VAV gas-purifying equipment installed on the machine, decreasing pollution. If the idea works, it will be implemented at other sintering machines as well. (Ukrainian metal)
