Ukraine’s exports of ferronickel fell 7.3% YoY, to 74,900 tons, in January-September, down from 80,830 tons exported in January-September 2014, the State Statistics Service reported.
At the same time revenues from exports of ferronickel increased to $193 million from $188.8 million a year ago.
Over January through September Ukraine exported 33,360 tons of ferronickel to the Netherlands, up from 23,050 tons a year ago, while supplies to China increased to 10,170 tons from zero exported in January-September 2014.
Ukraine also supplied 18,520 tons of ferronickel to Italy, up from 16,650 tons a year ago, exports to the United Kingdom rose to 4,900 tons from 2,860 tons and supplies to the US increased to 4,080 tons from 110 tons in January-September 2014.
Meanwhile, exports to South Korea slumped to 2,280 tons from 28,970 tons a year ago and supplies to Finland fell to 1,090 tons from 8,130 tons.
In September alone Ukraine exported 6,050 tons of ferronickel, down from 7,490 tons in September 2014 and down from 7,200 tons exported in August.
Ukraine’s exports of ferrotitanium over nine months fell to 1,640 tons worth $6 million, down from 1,940 tons worth $8.5 million exported in January-September 2014. Ukraine supplies its ferrotitanium mostly to Germany and the Netherlands.
Ukraine’s only producer of ferronickel and ferrotitanium, Pobuzhskiy Ferronickel Plant, is exporting most of its output.
In 2014 Ukraine exported 103,480 tons of ferronickel, down by 9.1% from 113,780 tons exported in 2013. Ukraine also exported 2,760 tons of ferrotitanium, up by 1.5% from 2,720 tons. (https://www.platts.com/latest-news/metals/kiev/ukraines-jan-sep-exports-of-ferronickel-down-26286036/Ukrainian metal)
