ArcelorMittal Kirviy Rih has confirmed its interest in using the quay of the special seaport Oktyabrsk in Nikolaev for loading of its products.
According to the company CEO Paramjit Kahlon, the works current loading capacities at the port cannot handle all the metal products for export.
“We’re shipping some 2 million tons of metal products from Nikolaev. But we need to ship 2.5-2.8 million tons more. So our plans for Oktyabrsk are very serious”, he stressed.
At the same time AMKR is prepared to participate in the privatization of the port or its concession.
“It all depends on the decision of the government”, said Kahlon. “We want to rent two or three quays of Oktyabrsk, we said that in August, when we signed the memorandum of understanding with the port”, added the AMKR CEO. (Ukrainian metal)
