ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih wants to keep its traditional markets – it tries to retain its share on the local market, while increasing its presence on the European and Gulf markets, as well as seeking new ones.
But Ukrainian market remains its priority market, says the company sales and marketing director Virinder Bahadur Garg.
“Unfortunately, nowadays metal consumption on the Ukrainian market is falling. That was caused be several reasons. As you know, we have stopped supplying to Donbass and Crimea. That’s a large industrial part of the country, accounting for a major share of our deliveries. This year long rolled metal consumption in Ukraine decreased by 30% YoY. Of course, energy carriers and logistics price increase also affectS us. It affects all of us. But we are still trying to keep our last year levels”, he said.
But despite all this the company strives to be competitive to be able to emerge form the crisis even stronger. (Ukrainian metal)
