ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih is experiencing difficulties with ferrous metal scrap supplies.
“First of all this was caused by the decrease in scrap procurement in Ukraine due to the price drop”, said the company in its statement. At the same time scrap exports have grown because of the higher price.
AMKR supports the metal scrap exports limitations, proposed by other metal companies.
“We agree with the limitations, as the scrap procurement in Ukraine will not cover the needs of metal companies”, added the AMKR press-service.
ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih doesn’t have a main scrap supplier.
“We work with several large scrap suppliers. They provide us with some 25 thousand tons of scrap per month. We also cooperate with lesser suppliers – they add 5 thousand tons more”, said the press-service. (Ukrainian metal)
