Group DF has invested 19.5 million UAH into the construction of the titanium sponge averaging machine at the Zaporozhye Titanium and Magnesium Works. The machine allows automatically controlling the process of different fraction sponge mixing and increasing the chemical composition homogeneity of the products.
“This would allow us to enter the aerospace products markets. The machine will be constructed this year, and we would start producing higher quality products”, said the company CEO Vladimir Sivak.
The project was developed in May and the construction started in June. Assembly will begin in November.
ZTMK also undergoes the EN 9100:2009 certification audit.
According to Group DF, the world market consumes 160-170 thousand tons of titanium sponge per year worth $1.5-2 billion. Aerospace industry purchases 80-87% of the world titanium sponge.
In 2014 ZTMK produced 7215.4 tons of titanium sponge and 32640.91 tons of titanium slag. (Ukrainian metal)
