Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works thermal station #1 has completely switched to blast furnace gas, which led to a substantial natural gas saving. In August the works was able to save 2.9 million UAH.
“We had to do this. In July we were temporarily left without gas, and our machinery had to work on the blast furnace gas. When we returned to normal conditions, our specialists decided to go on working on this gas”, said the company CEO Yuri Zinchenko.
The technique has been tested and developed, and now two boilers at the medium pressure shop work without natural gas. (Ukrainian metal)
