Ukraine has contracts to import 300 thousand tons of coal from Russia every month, said the minister for energy and coal industry Vladimir Demchyshin.
“Russia mines a lot of coal, we could import 1 million tons per month. But so far I’m aware of contracts for 200-300 thousand tons monthly”, he said.
He added, that Ukraine was already buying coal from Russia.
“For the past two weeks Centrenergo received 30 thousand tons of coal. That’s power-generating coal. Coking coal is supplied at the level of 400 thousand tons per month”, said the minister. (Ukrainian metal)
