At night Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Works, a part of Metinvest Group, was massively shelled.
According to the group site, a dozen shells exploded all over the works territory. Coal washing workshop #1 and desulphurizing shop #1 were damaged and put out of operation. Railroad workshop was severely damaged.
“The main machinery of the company was damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties”, said Metinvest.
Splinters damaged the second coking battery gas pipeline and resulted in the gas ignition. Two batteries of the coking workshop #1 currently produce no coke.
It should be noted, that the works has been under artillery and mortar fire since July 2014: around 300 shells exploded on its territory. 7 employees were killed. (Ukrainian Metal)
