In January-May ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih produced 2.57 million tons of carbon steel, up by 4.1% YoY.
According to the company statement, its pig iron output rose by 4.6%, to 2.28 million tons, while that of rolled metal – by 4.3%, to 2.27 million tons.
In May the works decreased pig iron output by 5.9%, to 496.4 thousand tons, that of steel – by 7.7%, to 561.2 thousand tons, and that of rolled metal – by 5.9%, to 491.3 thousand tons, all YoY.
“In May AMKR metal output was on the predicted level, slightly less, than in May 2014, according to the forecast of weak demand for long products on the local and export markets, as well as due to a fall in metal prices”, said AMKR CEO Paramjit Kahlon. (Ukrainian metal)
