In January-February Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky (DMKD) produced 399 thousand tons of rolled metal, 366 thousand tons of steel and 347 thousand tons of pig iron, all down by 8.5%, 14.5% and 9.2% YoY respectively.

In February the company produced 145 thousand tons of rolled metal, 133 thousand tons of steel and 126 thousand tons of pig iron, with the respective output in January at 285 thousand tons, 233 thousand tons and 221 thousand tons. At the same time, in December 2014 DMKD produced 215.3 thousand tons of rolled metal, 230 thousand tons of steel and 223.7 thousand tons of pig iron.

As the result of the military activity in Lugansk and Donetsk regions, DMKD is in need of coke supplies. In February the works had to shut down one of its blast furnaces, started repairs on the other and decreased capacities of the third one.

2014 rolled metal output at DMKD fell by 15.1% (to 2.53 million tons), that of steel – by 13.6% (to 2.53 million tons) and pig iron manufacture went down by 8.3%, to 2.42 million tons, all YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
