Zaporizhstal Integrated Iron and Steel Works is one of the first Ukrainian iron and steel plants that introduced QR-coding system of finished products based on SAP Mobile Inventory Management system. This system enables to operate automatically inventory procedures and finished goods shipment.
One of the sequent steps in preparation to introduce automation system of process management SAP is the start-up of QR-coding system of finished products based on SAP IM.
Within three months specialists of the works organized the process of product labeling with QR-codes, provided operators from finished products warehouse with scanning devices for QR-codes, developed technical decision for data transfer to information database of the works, where it adapts and uses for filing.
Mr Ruslan Bozhko financial director of Zaporizhstal said that “As a part of increasing production efficiency tasks, we upgrade not only industrial process but infrastructural elements. QR-coding system facilitates supply logistics for our employees and consumers. The system like this was introduced for the first time on iron and steel plant in Ukraine. I’m sure that our system will become a standard for other enterprises during introduction.”
He said that “This system will enable to reduce the time of taking inventory by 60 %, to eliminate a possibility of product stealage from the works, to simplify and to speed up work of operators from finished products warehouse, to reduce human factor influence to a minimum and will allow to make actual record keeping.”
