In July-August Ukrainian metal companies decreased rolled metal supplies to Russia by 27%.

According to Eavex Capital, in the given period long rolled metal exports to EU increased by 28% YoY, to 90 thousand tons, with flats exports up by 15%, to 334 thousand tons.

At the same time Ukrainian steel-smelters decreased billets and slab exports by 18%.

This situation is explained by halts of and decrease in steel output at some metal companies in the anti-terrorist operation zone.

Meanwhile, despite the decrease of export volumes, Russian market still consumes a major share of Ukrainian rolled metal.

In July-August long rolled products exports to Russia decreased by 23%.

Ukrainian sheet steel sales in Russia reached 262 thousand tons, thrice that of EU deliveries.

Flats exports saw a more considerable fall – by 30%, to 155 thousand tons, twice as low, as was sold in EU. (Ukrainian metal)
