ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih has implemented wire rod manufacture. This product, made of SV08G2S grade steel, is used to make welding wire.

Actually, this wire rod has already been produced at the works, but it was manufactured using an outdated method from blooming ingots. The new wire rod, made of billets from converter shop, has a more stable level of chemical composition and mechanical properties.

Since blooming (when ingots were heated and rolled, thus, increasing expenses) was excluded from the process, cost price of the product decreased by $50 per ton. (Ukrainian metal)
