In 2013 Ukrainian production of iron ore raw materials increased by 4.8%, to 81.2 million tons, up by 5 million tons YoY.

All product categories witnessed the rise: ore – by 715 thousand tons, or 5.3%, concentrate – by 635 thousand tons, or 1.6%, pellets – by 1989 thousand tons, or 9.1%, and sinter – by 390 thousand tons, or 19.3%.

Poltava Mining and Processing Works showed the best results, increasing pellets output by 11.4%, or 1106 thousand tons.

According to the analysts, the rise was due to the domestic market demand. (Ukrainian metal)
