According to the data issued by Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers, in the first two months of the current year Ukraine registered a 1.4% decrease in its finished steel product output to 4.243 million tons, a 3.1% increase in its crude steel output to 5.446 million tons and a 2.4% rise in its pig iron production to 4.758 million tons all YoY.
The country’s production of metallurgical coke in the given period went down by 8% YoY to 2.891 million tons. In the January to February period Ukraine produced 11.055 million tons of iron ore concentrate and 3.410 million tons of iron ore pellets, up by 2% and down by 9% respectively compared to the same period last year.
In February alone Ukraine produced 2.601 million tons of crude steel, down by 8.6%, 2.043 million of finished steel products, down by 7.1%, and 1.369 million tons of metallurgical coke, down by 16.6%, all on MoM basis. (SteelGuru)
