Interpipe has launched two new production floors for scrap processing at Dnepropetrovsk Vtormet. These facilities are equipped with a shearing press, produced by AKROS, and scrap re-loaders, made by Sennebogen. The production capacity of one floor is 16 to 30 tons of scrap per hour.
Commissioning of these new facilities is a part of the company investment program, aimed at raising Dnepropetrovsk Vtormet production potential. The program is dedicated to the expansion of production capacities on the current working floors in Dnepropetrovsk and Lugansk as well as the development of a proper scrap procurement network. The latter objective will be reached by launching new production facilities in the key industrial regions of Ukraine.
The new floors and facilities will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, starting with the scrap processing hardware, scrap re-loaders and specialized scrap transportation vehicles and reaching the repair tools for the purchased machinery.
Olga Korotkova, Chairman of the Board of Dnepropetrovsk Vtormet, said “Total volume of investments to upgrade the existing equipment and to purchase new machinery for the Dnepropetrovsk and Lugansk scrap processing facilities will be $8.5 million. In 2011-2012 Interpipe will invest approximately $30 million in the development of the regional scrap procurement facilities’ network. By now Interpipe has already purchased five new facilities, two of which in Zhitomir and Poltava were acquired at the start of December this year. The company plans to launch 19 production floors in various regions of Ukraine”. (Steel Guru)
