ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, the Ukrainian subsidiary of the Luxembourg-based steel giant ArcelorMittal, has started to install its continuous casting billet mill.
The steelmaker announced the beginning of the construction of its new continuous casting complex one year ago. The complex is due to start production operations in September.
The estimated capacity of the six strand billet continuous caster No 1 is 1.2 million tons of steel per year. The mill will produce square billets with 150 mm cross section and of 9-12 meters length.
The equipment will be supplied by Siemens VAI. (SteelOrbis)
