As of May 1, importers of steel pipes to Ukraine used 86.47% of their annual quota for imports of steel seamless casing and tubing with diameters up to 406.4 mm.
For the period from October 1st 2010 to September 30th 2011 the quota in question is 15,955 tons.
Of this figure, the unused quota volume is 2,159 tons.
In particular, Russia used 100% of its quota for exports of the mentioned products to Ukraine, Austria used 41% of its quota, Poland used 99.9% (1,050 tons), China used 100% (46 tons) and Romania used 100% of its quota (200 tons).
Slovakia and India did not have licenses for steel pipe deliveries to Ukraine.
In July 2008 Ukraine imposed quotas on imports of steel seamless casing and tubing in the range of 14,504-15,955 tons per year for the period of October 1, 2008 to September 30, 2011. (SteelOrbis)
