It is reported that the Donetsk Electrometallurgical Plant, the mini-mill previously known as ISTIL, is resuming its investment projects and plans in 2010 to invest UAH 15 million in production upgrades.
Accordingly, DEMZ has placed a UAH 3.5 million order with equipment producer Vesuvius for the supply of calibrated nozzle changers, the installation of which will start this week at the plant’s electro-smelting shop and at its concaster.
The new system will increase the volume of casted steel by 4,500 tons per month, reduce steel waste by 4,000 tons per year and will decrease the refractory rate. In addition, in June DEMZ will also receive two scrap handlers produced and supplied by the German company Fuchs. (SteelOrbis)
