It is reported that the Ukrainian steel producer Makeevsk Metallurgical Plant has commissioned its new longs rolling mill 390. The total project investment amounted to USD 160 million.
The new mill with an annual capacity of 720,000 tonnes will allow Makeevsk to produce rebars of 8 mm to 40 mm diameter. In addition, the mill will produce 10 mm to 14 mm diameter rounds, 25 mm, 32 mm, 36 mm, 40 mm and 45 mm angles, 14 mm to 26 mm and 30 mm squares and other special profiles.
Mr Enver Tskitishvili general director of Makeevsk said “The commissioning of longs rolling mill 390 will allow us to considerably increase MMZ’s product range in new segments and to better satisfy the needs of our customers, especially in high quality rebar.”
The main units of Makeevsk’s new mill were supplied by MWE its reheating furnace was delivered by LOI while the design and installation supervision were carried out by TRANSPESCH.(Steelorbis)
