Zaporizhstal was the first in Ukraine to get an eco-loan valued at $1 million for the construction of the gas-purifying system within the cooperation with the Ministry of ecology and natural resources and the state-run Ukrgazbank.

According to the company statement, the money will be used to disassemble the outdated machinery and assemble a new automated system of gas-purification, which will decrease pollution by at least 20%.

The total cost of the project is $1.5 million, with $0.5 million being Zaporizhstal’s own money.

The loan has been given for a year with a 7-7.5% interest rate. The machinery is being contracted. (Ukrainian metal)
