Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC has been granted the right to conduct geological exploration for iron, titanium and vanadium at Bala-Chichkan deposit. The relevant Cabinet of Ministers resolution was signed by Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliev.
The subsoil-use rights were granted for geological exploration. The deposit has estimated iron reserves of 1 million tons.
The Bala-Chichkan area covers 4,361 hectares and is located in Talas district of Talas region.
Before beginning the work, Kyrgyzaltyn has been advised to obtain an opinion from the authorized state body responsible for culture on the presence or absence of historical and cultural heritage sites in the area.
