The ceremonial events were held on July 16 in the Nezlamny Hub of the Orbita PC and on July 17 in the company’s workshops. Zaporizhstal employees received congratulations from representatives of regional and local authorities, as well as from the management of the company and the plant. In total, 102 Zaporizhstal employees, five best teams and the company’s labor dynasty were awarded individual awards during the celebrations. The bonus fund amounted to 860 thousand hryvnias.
Metinvest Group Operations Director Oleksandr Myronenko thanked the company’s teams for their professionalism and dedication. Honorary certificates from the CEO of Metinvest and certificates worth 40,000 hryvnias for improving working conditions were awarded to the five best divisions of Zaporizhstal: blast furnace, oxygen-compressor shop, hot rolling shop, metallurgical equipment repair shop No. 1, and railway transport department.
The congratulations were also joined by the Director of Sustainable Development and Interaction with Personnel of Metinvest Group, Tetyana Petruk. A letter of gratitude from the CEO of Metinvest recognized five Zaporizhstal employees who set an example for their colleagues with their work.
A special pride of the enterprise with a 92-year history is its working families, who instill respect and love for the profession in new generations. This year, the honorary title “Golden Dynasty of Metinvest” and a bonus of 50,000 hryvnias were awarded to the working family of Korotkyh-Kulbako, whose work experience has crossed the mark of 405 years.
Eight Zaporizhzhia steelworkers were awarded the Medal “For the Development of the Zaporizhzhia Region” and a diploma from the Zaporizhzhia State Administration. The awards were presented by the First Deputy Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, Ruslan Movchan, who emphasized that Zaporizhzhia could not be imagined without metallurgy: “Zaporizhzhia has always been and remains a city of metallurgists. It is thanks to you that enterprises work, the city lives, and the economy of the region remains stable. I thank everyone for their professionalism, responsibility, and daily work. I wish everyone peace, good health, and new professional achievements.”
On behalf of the city authorities, the secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, Regina Kharchenko, congratulated the industry workers: “Today, Zaporizhzhia produces about a quarter of all metal products in Ukraine, and this is a truly impressive figure. We believe that after the victory we will be able not only to preserve, but also to increase this potential. We all remember the grandeur of our city’s celebration of Metallurgist’s Day, and I am sure that this time will definitely return. After all, metallurgists deserve the highest honor, respect and gratitude”.
Among the award winners is Stepan Vilkov, a locomotive engineer at the railway transport department of the Zaporizhstal plant, who was awarded the medal “For the Development of the Zaporizhzhia region”.
“This is my first professional recognition, so it is especially valuable to me. It is very pleasant when your work is noticed and highly appreciated. This motivates you to work even better, develop and move forward to new professional achievements,” Stepan Vilkov shared.
