The Interdepartmental Commission for International Trade (ICIT) has prolonged for 5 years the antidumping duties against China.
The duty covers Chinese steel seamless hot-deformed pipes. It was introduced in 2020.
According to the decision, for most Chinese manufacturers and exporters the duty remains at 51.52%, although for some types of casing pipes it is set at zero.
Moreover, the ICIT has launched a new antidumping investigation against China. It concerns hot-rolled rods in 2022-2025, when imports from China grew considerably. ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih submitted a claim saying China’s export potential was so big it threatened local manufacture in Ukraine.
Because of the cheap Chinese imports, the company had serious damages: it had to reduce output, market share and number of employees. (Ukrainian Metal)
