In 2025, Zaporizhstal of Metinvest Group launched three new flat-rolled products – two hot-rolled and one cold-rolled. The new products are used in construction and engineering applications and serve as semi-finished products for the manufacture of steel structures. During 2025, Zaporizhstal shipped nearly 58,000 tons of the new products to its customers.
“Amid air raid alerts, enemy attacks, logistical challenges, and unstable power supply, Zaporizhstal’s steel workers not only keep the plant running but also strengthen the Ukrainian manufacturer’s position in international markets. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the plant has launched 31 new products. For 2026, we have set an ambitious goal to expand the product range by an additional 11 items. We are already working towards this goal”, said Taras Shevchenko, Acting General Director of Zaporizhstal and Hero of Ukraine.
In 2025, Zaporizhstal began producing plates and coils made of steel grade S235JRC in accordance with European standard EN 10025-2. This steel grade has excellent cold-forming properties and is used for building steel structures, electric-welded pipes, and engineering products. The products are supplied to, among other markets, Poland and Slovakia.
Additionally, in 2025, Zaporizhstal launched the production of hot-rolled coils from the same structural steel family in a new size – 1.8 mm thick and 1,045 mm wide. These are used for pipes, box and bent sections, welded load-bearing and decorative structures, as well as vehicle frames and parts. Moldova has become their primary sales market.
Furthermore, in 2025, Zaporizhstal began producing cold-rolled coils of steel grade S280GD. These are intended for subsequent galvanising and application of protective coatings and are then used in the manufacture of light thin-walled steel structures, ranging from roofing systems to facade panels. S280GD coils are also supplied to manufacturers of commercial equipment and storage racking systems on the Ukrainian domestic market. (Zaporizhstal)
