This year, Ukrainian scrap exporters set several records having received an opportunity to sell scrap without any export duty.
While last year, the customs officers took EUR 3 for each ton of scrap exported to the territory of the European Union, since January 1, the state budget had received nothing from the export of these strategic raw materials.
Moreover, Ukrainian scrap exporters have long ago learned to avoid paying the “general” export duty of EUR 180 per ton to the state budget, by obtaining the EUR.1 certificate of origin at the customs. (Ukrainian metal)
