The sale of scrap will allow Ukrzaliznytsia receiving additional funds and metal industry – increasing output and tax payments.
Thus, the state enterprise has to resume scrap sales as soon as possible, the CEO of the Federation of Transport Employees Volodymyr Husak has said.
“The issue of no scrap auctions must be solved as quick as possible. There is a simple solution – selling scrap at tenders. This will provide Ukrzaliznytsia with additional funds. And Ukrainian metal companies, which are now in a very difficult situation, will receive the much-needed raw materials. This will allow increasing manufacture for Ukraine, including for military industry,” the expert said.
Ukrzaliznytsia stopped selling scrap in September 2023. In 2022, it sold 113.04 thousand tons of scrap. (Ukrainian metal)
