4 ex-directors of the state enterprise Volynvugillya will be tried for damaging the state for 1.17 billion UAH.
“The State Bureau of Investigations has finished the pre-trial investigation of the activities of four ex-CEOs of the state enterprise, who in 2017-2022 headed the company. Because of their abuse of power, environment and subsoil sustained damages valued at 1.17 billion UAH,” the bureau said.
In 2018, the enterprise’s licenses to extract coal expired, and yet the CEO ordered to continue operation.
The replacement of the CEO didn’t change the situation, as each of the three successors continued illegal coalmining.
Within 4 years, 132.4 thousand tons of coal were mined illegally. The coal was sold according to current contracts.
The ex-CEOs are accused of illegal extraction of mineral deposits. (Ukrainian metal)
