The State Investigation Bureau has notified of four ex-CEOs of the state enterprise Volynugol of suspicion of activities resulting in a damage of 1.17 billion UAH to the environment and subsoil.
The CEO managed the enterprise from 2017 to 2022.
In 2018, the enterprise’s special allowances for coal extraction at two out of five mines expired. But the CEO ordered the employees to continue extracting coal.
“The situation was not changed neither by the second, nor the third and the fourth CEOs. All they neglected the legislation violations and continued extracting coal illegally,” the Bureau reported.
Over the four years, the mines yielded 132.4 thousand tons of illegal coal. (Ukrainian metal)
