As of September 1, the Beltrame Group has appointed Mr Alain Creteur as the new Managing Director of Stahl Gerlafingen. He takes over all offices and functions of René Bollier. He has led Stahl Gerlafingen interim for the past 18 months as Managing Director. Mr Alain Creteur is 49 years old, of Italian-Belgian descent and speaks Italian, French, German and English. He has more than 30 years of international experience in the steel sector, according to a Beltrame release. Prior to joining this Italian group, he held leading positions for the equally Italian Riva Group in various European countries, including Italy, France, Belgium and Germany. Most recently, until the end of August 2019, as Chairman of the Management Board of the German Hennigsdorfer Elektrostahlwerke GmbH and the Brandenburger Elektrostahlwerke GmbH of the Riva Group based in Brandenburg and as Managing Director of Riva Stahl (Holding Deutsche Werke). In addition, Creteur served as managing director of the holding company of the Riva Group Riva Forni Elettrici SpA and Chairman of the Board of Riva Acciaio SpA.

As the Beltrame note further indicates, Mr Creteur participated in one of the Riva Group’s largest investments, which included the construction and commissioning of a new electric steel plant. In 1992 he was a member of the task force for the privatization of the two German steel works Hennigsdorfer Elektrostahlwerke GmbH and the Brandenburger Elektrostahlwerke GmbH by the Italian Riva group. Until joining Stahl Gerlafingen, he was in charge of the two German companies, which he had pursued from the very beginning with the aspects of modernization, development and growth.
