On April 29, 1974, Evraz ZSMK converter shop No. 2 produced its first steel.
At present the shop operates 2 converters with the volume of 320 tons. In 2017, one of them was replaced. Soon another will follow.
In 2002 the plant commissioned the largest continuous casting machine in the world. In 3 years, the largest slab CCM in Russia with the capacity of 2.4 million tons was commissioned.
In 2019 Evraz ZSMK mastered the manufacture of 130×130 mm billet in addition to already produced 150×150 and 150×200 mm billets.
In 45 years, almost 169 million tons of steel of 400 grades have been produced in the shop. (Ukrainian metal)
