In 2018 Ukraine decreased scrap exports by 33% YoY, to 327.547 thousand tons, valued at $105.646 million, down by 13.3%.
According to the State Fiscal Service, in December 2018 Ukraine exported 7.488 thousand tons of scrap, in November – 3.863 thousand tons, in October – 8.274 thousand tons, in September – 7.59 thousand tons, in August – 19.05 thousand tons, in July – 10.939 thousand tons, in June – 19.359 thousand tons, in May – 34.537 thousand tons, in April – 76.331 thousand tons, in March – 53.668 thousand tons, in February – 52.634 thousand tons and in January – 33.814 thousand tons.
Imports grew by 67.1%, to 42.623 thousand tons, valued at $36.588 million, up by 42.5%.
The main suppliers last year were Turkey (69.28%), South Korea (8.36%) and Russia (12.97%), while the main customers – Moldova (62.78%), Turkey (35.03%) and the Netherlands (1.3%). (Ukrainian metal)
