Pobuzhye Ferronickel Plant has started assembling the third stage of gas purification for the tubular rotary kilns Nos. 1 and 2.
The project started in 2016. So far $1.8 million have been invested, including $600 thousand in 2017 and $1.2 million this year.
The project will be completed in 2-3 years. Its total cost is $6.4 million.
After the project is complete, the 99.9% of all harmful emissions will be caught, and the pollution will decrease to 20 mg per cubic meter.
“This will correspond to EU norms. Ukrainian norms allow emissions of up to 50 mg per cubic meter. But we have decided to do everything according to EU norms at once”, the company CEO Oleg Bespalov said. (Ukrainian metal)
