A gas blowout occurred at the Centralnaya mine in the city of Toretsk resulting in the death of a miner.
According to the commissioner of human rights in Donetsk and Lugansk regions Pavel Lisyanskiy, the accident happened late on October 11.
There was a gas kick in the shaft and the cave-in of coal.
One miner perished, while another was injured.
The Centralnaya mine was opened in 1860 and is the oldest mine in Ukraine. (Ukrainian metal)
