In January-March Ukrained increase ferrous scrap exports 3.6-fold YoY, to 140.116 thousand tons, valued at $47.788 million, up 4.1-fold.
According to the State Fiscal Service, in March Ukraine exported 53.558 thousand tons of scrap, in February – 52.634 thousand tons, and in January – 33.814 thousand tons.
Imports in 3 months increased by 28.6%, to 11.214 thousand tons valued at $9.203 million, up by 42.2%.
The main suppliers in Q1 were Turkey (75.43%) Russia (21.55%) and Slovakia (1.78%), while the main customers were Moldova (75.96%), Turkey (22.61%) and the Netherlands (0.81%).
In January-March Ukraine also imported 140 tons of hot-briquetted iron from Russia valued at $46 thousand, as opposed to 980 tons at $262 thousand in Q1 2017. (Ukrainian metal)
