Russian coal producer Kolmar plans to raise coal production to 6.5 million tons in 2018 from 4.5 million tons in 2017, CEO Sergei Tsivilyov said on February 27.

“In 2017 we already produced 4.5 million tons of coal, we’ve now purchased a lot of equipment, and our plans for 2018 is 6.5 million tons of coal,” Tsivilyov said.

The company currently has one mine, one open pit, one ore-dressing plant and will complete construction of a second plant in a month.

The number of employed people at the company is to grow to 8,000 by 2021 from around 3,000 currently, Tsivilyov also said. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
