Brazil Steel Institute (IABr) has called unacceptable the technical report of the Ministry of Finances on antidumping measures to steel imports from Russia and China.
According to the ministry the final antidumping measures will negatively affect local customers, which would face short-term difficulties when making their delivery chains.
Moreover the antidumping duties will result in the inflation increase.
Still, the IABr believes that Brazil should follow the example of other countries that impose duties on Russian and Chinese steel and protect local manufacturers.
“Almost all countries that produce steel have already taken trade protection measures regarding steel products from China and Russia. We expect the government to impose antidumping duties”, IABr said. (Ukrainian metal)
