This year the United Mining and Chemical Company, which manages Volnogorsk Iron and Steel Works and Irshansk Mining and Processing Works, intends to increase investments 2-fold, to 200 million UAH,
“2018 will be the year of manufacture reconstruction. I believe our investments will exceed those of 2017 2-fold. It’s difficult to name the exact amount, but I guess we well reach 200 million UAH, and that will be another record for our company”, UMCC acting chairman Alexander Gladushko said.
A new concentrate factory will be built at IrGOK, as its current capacities are not enough. IrGOK will also be developing the Bukinsky site of Mezhdurechenskoye deposits with the reserves of 19 million tons of titanium ore.
Ilmenite concentrate output is expected to reach 700 thousand tons, enough for 3 years of operation.
Volnogorsk Iron and Steel Works will construct a tailings processing factory. It will be needed as soon as the titanium reserves of the Malyshevskoye deposits, being currently developed by the works, run out. (Ukrainian metal)
