Kazakhstan: AMT to invest $21 million into steel manufacture

ArcelorMittal Temirtau will invest $21 million into the strategically important steel project.

At present the ladle furnace construction is nearing its end. Its commissioning is scheduled for late Q2 2018.

“The converter shop is undergoing a serious repair. This year we carried out 21 investment projects there. The most important for the steel manufacture is the construction of the third ladle-furnace. At present ArcelorMittal Temirtau operates two 290-ton ladle-furnaces. With the third one we will increase steel output to 5 million tons per year by 2020”, the company deputy manufacturing director Vladimir Yablonsky said. (Ukrainian metal)
